Class Styles

It is said yoga was first introduced to the west at Chicago’s World’s Fair in 1893.
We now identify 14 different styles of yoga in the United States. Let’s avoid the over whelm. Yellow Aura offers you 3 primary styles on a regular basis [Vinyasa, Beginners, and Restorative]. You will find a couple of specialty classes sprinkled in. Check out the descriptions before you unroll your mat! All classes are 60 minutes. Yellow Aura is not a heated studio.

Current Class Styles Offered

Beginner

Level: Newbie
In Beginner yoga, we will break down the postures. We will discuss proper alignment and give a background of the benefits each posture has on the physical body. When you come to Beginner level yoga, expect an extended warm up and cool down. This class will prepare you for Vinyasa should that be your end goal. All are welcome to attend this class, as a refresher of yoga fundamentals. Class will end with a beautiful relaxation.

Restorative

Level: All
In Restorative Yoga, postures are performed using yoga props [bolsters, blankets, blocks, and straps]. This is an extremely slow-paced, calming practice. The entirety of the practice is performed on the floor. Restorative is the perfect complement to your Vinyasa or Beginner class regimen. This class is designed to release tension from sore, tight muscles. Class will end with a beautiful Savasana.

Vinyasa

Level: Intermediate
Vinyasa yoga is a flow practice. In Vinyasa, expect fluid transitions from posture to posture, cued by breath. This style of yoga will challenge you to find your personal edge. Class will end with a beautiful Savasana.
.

Wrists, Low Backs, + Feet

Level: All
Servers, this class is for you! This is a class for those who spend their days on their feet! Don’t shy away if you’re not a server. Every physical body will benefit from these targeted postures. Let’s work on stretching the wrists and feet while releasing that tension from our low backs. Class will end with a beautiful Savasana.

Free Community Yoga

Level: Intermediate
I believe everyone needs a little free yoga in their life, so come and get it! This class is always free to you. If you would like to make a cash donation, I will submit it directly to The Yoga Giveback Foundation, an organization that brings mindful yoga to veterans. [If you’re a local, you might remember this class from Moody Park!] This is a slower-paced Vinyasa class. Class will end with a beautiful Savasana.
