“I’ve been regularly attending Heather Kellogg’s Vinyasa class for the past six months. As a total yoga novice, I wasn’t sure what to expect, and I was nervous about attending my first class – would I be able to do the poses without feeling incompetent or foolish, would I wear the right clothes, would I violate some yoga cultural norms? All of my worries vanished during my first class: Heather is a warm and welcoming teacher, who, through words, demonstration, and a whole lot of positive energy will show you what you need to do. It turned out that I knew a lot more than I thought I did, and I’ve come a long way in developing my abilities since I started attending Heather’s class. The students in the class have a varying range of skill levels, ages, and body types; the one common element is that everyone is really friendly and non-judgmental. As a runner, I’ve come to depend on Heather’s class to help me unwind from the week and to work on stiff muscles and flexibility. We all have busy schedules, and it’s so nice to take an hour to do something so restorative – my week feels incomplete without it!
